Pogroms and anti-pogroms

One of the triggers for the series of pogroms against Jews in Russia after the assassination of Tzar Alexander II was that there was a Jewish girl among the revolutionaries who threw the bomb. The repeated pogroms against the jews are said to have led them to Zionism. The ignored cry of innocence from Alfred Dreyfus, wrongly accused of treason by the French made Theodore Hersel start thinking of a homeland for the Jews.
Isreal was born.
The cruelty, intolerance and the superstitions of the Europeans – from the Russians to the British has now caused pain and suffering to an innocent group of people far away, in Palestine.
The thirst for justice inside man is very strong. But many a time, that itself can make him propagate unspeakable injustice on others. The people of the middle east, the cradle of human civilization, pay with interest for Europe’s sins.
